Terms of Service
Please read these terms carefully before using AxilJS, its documentation, CLI tools, or any associated services provided by SyntaxilitY.
Section 01
Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using AxilJS, its documentation at axiljs.dev, the AxilJS CLI, any associated npm packages under the @axiljs scope, or any other services provided by SyntaxilitY (collectively, the "Services"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms").
If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not access or use the Services.
Section 02
Description of Services
AxilJS provides the following services:
- The AxilJS open-source framework — a complete TypeScript backend ecosystem comprising 17 packages under the @axiljs scope.
- The AxilJS CLI tool (@axiljs/cli) for project scaffolding, development, building, testing, and deployment.
- Documentation hosted at axiljs.dev including guides, API references, and tutorials.
- The AxilJS GitHub repository and all associated source code at github.com/SyntaxilitY/AxilJS.
- Any future services including AxilJS Cloud, AxilJS Studio, or the AxilJS package registry.
AxilJS is currently in version 0.1.0 and is under active development. Features, APIs, and services may change without prior notice during this pre-release phase.
Section 03
License & Usage
AxilJS is released under the MIT License. Subject to the terms of the MIT License, SyntaxilitY grants you a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to:
- Use, copy, modify, and distribute AxilJS packages in personal, commercial, or open-source projects.
- Create derivative works based on AxilJS source code.
- Sublicense AxilJS as part of your own software products.
- Access and use the documentation for development purposes.
The documentation content, website design, branding, logos, and the "AxilJS" and "SyntaxilitY" names are proprietary and are not covered by the MIT License.
Section 04
Prohibited Uses
You agree not to use the Services to:
- Violate any applicable local, national, or international law or regulation.
- Misrepresent AxilJS or SyntaxilitY in a way that could damage our reputation or mislead users.
- Use the AxilJS name, logo, or branding to imply endorsement by SyntaxilitY without written consent.
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract proprietary components beyond what the MIT License permits.
- Use the documentation website in any manner that could damage, disable, or impair the website or servers.
- Scrape, crawl, or harvest documentation content for training AI models without explicit written permission from SyntaxilitY.
- Publish malicious packages to npm that claim to be official AxilJS packages.
- Engage in any activity that interferes with other users' access to the Services.
Section 05
Intellectual Property
The following elements are the exclusive intellectual property of SyntaxilitY and Tariq Mehmood:
- The "AxilJS" name, trademark, and logo.
- The "SyntaxilitY" name, brand identity, and logo.
- The axiljs.dev website design, layout, and documentation content.
- The architectural concepts, design decisions, and system design described in the documentation.
- The "SyntaxilitY API Response Manager" name and concept.
The underlying source code of AxilJS packages is open-source under the MIT License. Contributions submitted via pull requests are considered offered under the same MIT License.
Section 06
Disclaimer of Warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, SyntaxilitY expressly disclaims all warranties, including but not limited to:
- Implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
- Warranties that the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or harmful components.
- Warranties regarding the accuracy, reliability, or completeness of any documentation or content.
- Warranties that defects will be corrected or that the Services will meet your requirements.
As AxilJS is currently pre-release software (v0.1.0), APIs and behaviors may change between versions. We strongly recommend pinning specific package versions in production and reviewing changelogs before upgrading.
Section 07
Limitation of Liability
SyntaxilitY's total cumulative liability shall not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid to SyntaxilitY in the twelve months preceding the claim, or (b) USD $100.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages, so the above limitations may not apply to you in full.
Section 08
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless SyntaxilitY, Tariq Mehmood, and all contributors from and against any claims, damages, losses, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from:
- Your use of or access to the Services.
- Your violation of these Terms.
- Your violation of any third-party rights, including intellectual property or privacy rights.
- Any content you submit, post, or transmit through the Services.
- Applications or products you build using AxilJS that harm third parties.
Section 09
Termination
SyntaxilitY reserves the right to terminate or suspend your access to any part of the Services at any time, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms or applicable law.
You may stop using the Services at any time. Termination does not affect your existing rights under the MIT License to use previously downloaded AxilJS source code.
Provisions that by their nature should survive termination — including Intellectual Property, Disclaimer of Warranties, Limitation of Liability, and Governing Law — will survive.
Section 10
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. As SyntaxilitY operates as an international open-source project, disputes shall be resolved through good faith negotiation first. If formal dispute resolution is required, both parties agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of competent courts.
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
Section 11
Changes to Terms
SyntaxilitY reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. When we make material changes, we will:
- Update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
- Announce changes in the AxilJS GitHub repository.
- If material changes affect user rights significantly, provide notice via the documentation website.
Your continued use of the Services after changes become effective constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
